Here at Blue Heron Pond, we focus on Green following the wisdom of reuse, recyle, reduce.

From site design and storm water management through energy conservation in our home building to curbside pick up of recycling materials, Blue is Green. Our philosphy is simple: save money through energy efficiencies and enhance the health and safety of our residents and the greater world around us.

Reuse. Our natural resources should never be taken for granted. And, as in her nature, Mother Nature can be unpredictable when it comes to giving and taking. If you have ever experienced the necessity of rationed water you will realize just how many times a day you reach for water. This particular resource is replenished by Mother Nature more quickly than say, fossil fuels.  The key is to catch it and use it and not be wasteful.  Blue Heron Pond was designed with a storm water management system for the purpose of catching, conrolling and utilizing the rain water given to us by Mother Nature.

Reduce. Energy is a hot topic these days as the price of heating our homes and filling our gas tanks continues to climb.  At Blue Heron Pond we started planning for energy conservation and efficiencies from day one.  You'll see products in our homes from double pane low-e glass windows and insulated doors to energy star appliances selected for their energy efficiency features.

Recycle. Curbside trash pick up and recyling pick up is included in the Blue Heron Pond montly condominium fees. In addition, shurbs and perennials are selected for their drought resistent properties as well as hardy enough to survive and thrive in our New England soils and temperatures. Many of our residents love to garden and choose not to give up their passion when they move to Blue Heron Pond.  You will notice this as you drive through our community and enjoy the colorful annuals and perennials that adorn many front porches and flower beds.  Some of us take great pleasure in keeping our hands in the dirt that Mother Nature has so kindly given. The gazebo has become a popular location for the tender loving care of our resident gardeners to continue their hobby and passion.
